Matt & Briana’s Engagement Session

Spring came early this year and so did the lovely blooms, which provided a great backdrop for my most recent photo shoot. Matt & Briana wanted their engagement photos to include places in Evanston that are memorable to them and reflect their style.

First we visited Homer’s Ice Cream, where the two love birds frequent for their favorite flavors of home made ice cream (a favorite of Al Capone too!). Next we went to Lighthouse Beach in Evanston. The weather was unbelievable cold that day so we didn’t stay on the beach long. I noticed an antique looking building nearby and thought it would make a cool backdrop for the couple and the pictures turned out amazing.

Matt really wanted to take Briana to his favorite childhood spot, Penny Park. It was cute to see them play around. I can see why he wanted to go there, this park is amazing! Check it out with your kiddos if you get a chance.

Our last location was the most fun, the Merrick Rose Garden. Briana and Matt wanted to get creative and take some vintage-inspired photos for their save-the-dates. Bri looked STUNNING and Matt couldn’t take his eyes off of her.

All in all, I had a great time with this couple and wish them a lifetime of health and happiness…

Congrats Matt & Briana!!!! <3 <3

The Spins @ The Elbo Room!

The Spins are a rock and roll band from Chicago. They play folk rock with experimental leanings, and feature harmony vocal parts. Their musical likings are all over the board, ranging from classical to jazz, from 50s rock and roll to indie.

Mike and Dylan met in high school. They started with acoustic harmony covers, then moved on to a cover band. They went their separate ways after graduation, but then randomly met in a parking lot several years later. (!) They resumed playing as an acoustic duo, then reached out to Dan, Dylan’s grade school classmate/tasty jazz drummer. The boys got together to jam and, liking what they heard, decided to make a go of it.

The Spins have great sound and really know how to draw a crowd! Check ‘em out LIVE or at: http://www.thespinstheband.com/The_Spins/bio.html
